Timothy J. Colgan

As a lawyer myself, I interact with many lawyers on a daily basis. Like any profession, there are lawyers who exemplify the highest level of diligence, competence and trustworthiness, and lawyers who lack one or more of those characteristics, oftentimes due to lack of experience or simple disregard..... Tim Colgan is someone who, I believe, embodies the qualities of a lawyer with the highest level of professional ethics. When I was faced with a highly sensitive interfamilial dispute, a close friend recommended Tim to me. Following my initial consultation, I knew that I was in good hands. It was quite obvious that Tim knew the law inside and out . He gave me solid legal advice and outstanding representation throughout the litigation. I could tell that he was well respected by opposing counsel and his peers. My observation of Tim Colgan is this. As a lawyer, Tim, in my personal experience, is among the best. As a person, Tim is a truly caring, genuine individual. The combination of his professional and personal traits makes for the best representation a client could ask for. I know that lawyers can have a reputation for causing more heartbreak and headache, but as odd as this may sound, the legal work that Tim did for me established peace in my household for which I am ever grateful. My spouse and I will continue to use Tim and his excellent staff for years to come and we will recommend him and his firm to our friends, family, and colleagues.

I had a positive experience as a result of retaining attorney Colgan. I found his name from a list of lawyers in my area, and I am happy to recommend him in issues of divorce. He is very professional, and quite knowledgeable in divorce law. He always seemed to have my best interest and the interest...s of my children in mind when providing advice. He was always available and returned calls or responded to e-mails in a prompt manner. I felt very comfortable communicating my needs, and hearing my options. He was very flexible when it came to arranging meetings, since he practices in two separate offices. Overall I am very pleased with the way my divorce was handled.

Mr. Colgan was very knowledgeable about family law and was excellent at explaining matters that were confusing. He also demonstrated an extraordinary ability to read between the lines of what a person was saying, and seemed to understand the tactics of an abusive/controlling person. When the collab...orative process became murky, he was able to stay on top of the important issues at hand and guide the process to a positive and fair outcome, particularly when my former spouse tried to change the topic or take control excessively.

When considering filing for divorce, I knew I would want to go the "collaborative" route as we both were not going to make this an "ugly" experience for either one of us or our child. Tim was very understanding and guided me through the various options I could take and was very up front about how th...is can be done in a civil manner which would be best for all. He was extremely trustworthy and knowledgeable and I greatly appreciate how he guided me through an extremely painful and difficult time.

I would first like to thank everyone for their professional expertise. Mr. Colgan was recommended to me cause I was looking for someone who would have my best interest. This was a very long drawn out divorce. I was always kept in the loop and told of what to expect when the next meeting would come up.... Mr. Colgan always returned my calls and emails and always had an answer for my question. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
