Biography
During my career as an attorney I have focused on the representation of businesses and helping businesses to advance their business objectives while at the same time avoiding litigation and complying with applicable laws and regulations.
Previous to joining the Law Offices of Peter J. Russo, P.C. in 2013, I held positions with several law firms (both large and small), the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General (Antitrust Division), and Sprint Corporation. As a former in house counsel and business owner, I am well aware of the many challenges facing businesses in today's global environment. As a result, my legal advice tends to be pragmatic and focused on achieving the desired result in a cost-effective manner. I am an active member of numerous Bar Associations, including the American, Pennsylvania, Dauphin and Cumberland County Bars. I have won awards as the Legal Intelligencer's Women of Distinction (2010) and Harrisburg Magazine's Simply the Best (2008 & 2009). I have lectured and presented educational seminars on many diverse topics, including the attorney/client privilege, alternative fee arrangements, formation and documenation of limited liability companies, choosing the best legal entity, life balance considerations, technology and quality of life, avoiding sexual harassment and antirust do's and dont's.
My practice focuses on the representation of busnesses, which includes but is not limited to:
-Business needs - including new business formation, sales and acquisitions, commercial real estate (sales and leases), financing/refinancing, general contract matters, employment (including PHRC and EEOC), insurance and regulatory compliance. I also help the owners of closely held businesses to plan their estates to provide both for their families and the successful transition of their business by appropriate succession planning.
-Commercial litigation - antitrust, breach of contract, easements, rights of way, land use and zoning, environmental litigation, civil RICO, and employment (including non-competition/non-disclosure agreements related to both transactions and employment).
-Telecommunications - representation of clients before both the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and the Federal Communications Commission.
