Awesome experience

I had a difficult case and my previous attorney was very passive in courtroom while the opposition was over-aggressive and making false allegations. I had basically a lost case with opposition having filed a plethora of false allegations and multiple motions to bog down the court. The first day after... meeting Kim and retaining her doing substitution of attorney, I was driving back home, found some hope and had tears of joy in my eyes. She was almost like God-sent. Two weeks later, Kim was in court to represent me, she had not only found all the problems in the case, she requested the court to perform housecleaning on duplicate motions cleaning up at least 4 dates off the calendar. She then cracked her whip in court with her strong, assertive voice. While in court, I once again had tears of joy, hearing my voice being represented in court so effectively and in a truthful way. She is better than the other attorneys who claim to be on national top 4% list. Effective, no-nonsense and professional if you're on the truthful side.

Great Advice, Much better than other attorneys on initial consultation!

Kim is great. She actually called and gave me about 30 minutes over the phone and didn't even charge a dime. Every other attorney I contacted wanted 350-400 for the initial consult. Not Kim, she called me up the same day, and we spoke at length regarding my situation. She was extremely up front with ...me, didn't beat around the bush and gave solid advice. If I do end up in divorce, she will get my business, no question. Thanks Kim for the honest and direct advice. More attorney's should take a look at how you do business.

Excellent attorney, recommend highly

Kim Staron has worked for me for over a year now on a complicated family law case that involved international child abduction charges, an international move-away, child custody, and then a divorce. I am extremely grateful to have had her work for me and I recommend her highly. I will definitely keep ...her for all my future legal questions and work. When I hired her, I chose her based on her knowledge, her honest and realistic way of judging my case, and the way she treated me. She truthfully told me what she thought of my case (which did not look easy) and she impressed me with her clear outline of how she would handle my case, where to start and what to do in which order. In the beginning I was all confused and agitated. She has always been very friendly and nice and never condescending (which I had experienced with other attorneys). In addition, though, I could feel that she is very powerful and will not be tricked by opposing counsel. Although in the beginning I knew nothing about the legal side of my situation, she encouraged me to take charge, give my own input and even write parts of my declarations by myself, which I appreciated because this would save her time and me money. I felt we worked together, which really empowered me to be as involved as possible and learn and read and grow. She would make sure that the best interest of my child was always our highest priority whatever we wrote and tried to negotiate and she would never use “dirty” methods (although opposing counsel did). She made sure we were honest and professional. Whenever I wanted to reach Kim, it was very easy and quick. She has a secretary who would do the billing and pass on messages. But most of the time, I would talk to Kim Staron directly and she would answer all and any of my questions patiently and reply to emails quickly even when she was out of the office. Whenever we had a date coming up that was unexpected or urgent, she would also work for me on the weekends. For appointments in person, she was always punctual and well prepared. She also prepared me for the appointments I had with mediators and the court, which helped a lot. At court, Kim Staron was very impressive. She brought all the papers that had to do with my case, was perfectly organized, and remembered every little detail I had ever told her. She would always be very prepared and have clearly written down what she wanted to say (opposing counsel on the other hand would repeat herself and forget facts etc.). She knows everything about family law and is a very quick thinker, excellent negotiator and can act quickly, which, especially in court, can save time and money, and at the same time everything she does is well thought through, timely and necessary or advantageous. She is an outstanding speaker and she was convincing in a friendly and powerful way, which, I think, also impressed the judge. My case also involved immigration law and so she learned and researched and talked to immigration attorneys and soon was very knowledgeable about this field too. As to the fees, I think that she was worth every dollar and although she is not cheaper than other attorneys, I always felt that she did what was necessary but never wasted my money. If there were expensive items such as transcripts from court, she would also discuss with me before ordering them. Even though she let me make decisions, I always asked and followed her advice, and was always happy with her decisions that showed foresight and professionalism. In conclusion, I recommend Ms. Staron highly. She is an excellent attorney, smart, diligent, knowledgeable, powerful, flexible, realistic, an impressive speaker and quick thinker, and at the same time very warm-hearted, fun and has the best interest of the child in mind by whatever she does. She is not mean like some attorneys but can easily stand up to any “shark”. She “won” the case for me and I am convinced that no one else could have done a better job than she.

Amazing Attorney

My ex-wife served me with papers asking the court to grant supervised visitation with my daughter. Finding an attorney within days was a little frightening being I knew no one in the area who could recommend someone (I live out of state). So I turned to reviews and luckily I stumbled upon Kim. She... is an amazing attorney. Through her hardwork and vast knowledge of law, I ended up with custody of my daughter. She was always very quick to reply back to your emails or phone calls. She always kept me informed of each step and her dedication and experience are second to none. What started out to be a nightmare ended up a big success because of Kim. I would highly recommend Kim to anyone looking for a Family Law Attorney!

I highly recommend Kim Staron. High quality, high standards, ethical approach, favorable results.

I am so thankful to have Kim as my lawyer. She came highly recommended to me from two other people in my immediate organization within a larger Fortune 500 company. Prior to Kim, I had horrible representation from two other lawyers here in San Diego. It was so bad in fact, that I thought that I co...uld handle representing myself without a lawyer. I almost did, but was strongly advised not to. Good thing I didn’t and good thing I found Kim. I hired Kim and boy was there a noticeble difference immediately. She very quickly unraveled a string of shoddy work from prior counsel and was able to negotiate several agreements outside of court with an extremely contentionus opposing counselor. My prior two lawyers were unable to ever come to an agreement on anything outside of court. She did it on her first try. Unfortunately, my ex will not let up and continually files motions against me. Kim has represented me in court four times now. Each time, the outcome has been highly favorable. I believe that the reason that each outcome has been favorable is because Kim is incredibly knowledgeable regarding the law. She is the first lawyer that actually proved her ability to navigate family legal code on the spot and without prior warning while I was in her office, showing me exactly where and how the law applied to a particular aspect of my case. She really knows her stuff and she is extremely intelligent. She also keeps up on changes to the law and when they take effect in order to utilize them if necessary. She is extremely efficient and does not make any false promises. She is very direct about her approach and always acts above board. She is the first lawyer that I have had that tries to get in and get out and get done without creating additonal efforts and delays. Kim’s strong ethical standards will continue to increase her positive representation throughout the court system. This is important as I had no idea that one of my prior lawyers had a bad reputation throughout our courts due to one or more DUI situations. I had no clue until I had moved on. With Kim, I have no concern on this front. Also key to her approach is her preparation. My prior two lawyers seemed to wait until the last minute and then forget important elements causing me to stress out and have to give them all kinds of reminders in the court room. With Kim, you can take a breath and relax once she’s taken over your affairs. I have referred her to at least 5 other people that have come to me asking whether or not I knew a good lawyer (just in the past 6 months alone), and I will continue to refer anyone I come across to her.

""Top-notch" would be an understatement when describing Kim's skills as a family law attorney. I had the pleasure of working with Kim during my tour as a legal assistance attorney in San Diego. Divorce is a fact of life in the military, and the issues can get complex. Kim's was always willing to discuss a case and point me (and my client) in the right direction. When a case was too complex for the legal assistance office, those servicemembers who selected Kim as their attorney always had glowing reviews of her professionalism and advocacy of their case. Civility, professionalism, and expertise. Kim has them all."

"Having faced Kim as opposing counsel, I can say without hesitation that Kim is a top notch attorney. Her knowledge of family law is comprehensive. She is very pleasant to work with and always stays true to her word, but she is a fiery advocate for her clients in court. Any client who needs a family law attorney will be very happy they chose Kim as their counsel."
