also known as Tim Fleming
William “Tim” Fleming is a criminal defense and family law attorney in State College, Pennsylvania, with over 31 years of experience in both prosecution and defense of criminal cases, and family law representation.
As a former Assistant District Attorney, and First Assistant District Attorney in Centre County, Tim has a unique perspective as a criminal defense lawyer, and is intimately acquainted with the tactics used by aggressive prosecutors. Tim understands that the best defense is the ability to anticipate and know the offense against a client in criminal court.
Tim has owned and operated his own law office in State College for over fourteen years. Prior to that, he was a partner in the law firm of Lee, Martin, Green and Reiter in Centre County for sixteen years. He started his career in criminal law in Centre County in 1984.
Tim has handled difficult, high level criminal defense cases in Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata, Perry, Union and Snyder Counties. He is the father of two college graduates- a daughter who is a graduate Susquehanna University and a son who is a graduate of Penn State University, in State College, PA. Tim understands a parents’ and student’s investment in a college education and the value of protecting that asset from the stigma of a criminal record as the result of criminal charges. He has represented his student clients in Student Conduct review conferences at Penn State for over twenty years, and is familiar with the student disciplinary proceedings at other universities such as Bucknell University, and Susquehanna University.
Tim has also been an active participant in pro bono representation for Mid Penn Legal Services and the Centre County Women’s Resource center, and has been the current President for the Centre For Alternatives To Community Justice for the past four years, and a past member of the Board of Directors for the State Theatre, both in State College, Pennsylvania.
Tim also practices Collaborative Divorce and Family Law, and is an active member of the Collaborative Practice Group- Central Counties Collaborative Law Community in the Centre region. He is also a Member of the Centre County, Pennsylvania, and Middle District Federal Court Bars.
Tim has been a resident of Centre County for all of his thirty one years of professional practice in law.

Attorney Tim Fleming is someone who I would recommend to anyone. I ended up with an issue where the PA Dept of Transportation suspended my Drivers License in error. Attorney Fleming expertly helped me walk back a very complicated series of events and win the case. Thank you to him for a wonderful...

Having no experience with the criminal justice system and being in our mid 60's we asked our Farming organization for a referral and hired an attorney in Harrisburg who did not communicate with us and did not know the law and certainly did not know the Centre County justice system. After being fed u...

Tim worked diligently to ensure I received the proper paperwork, and was kind and understanding throughout th...

Attorney Fleming is an excellent attorney. He was upfront about all aspects of our case, i.e, what could happen, what our rights were, and what we needed to do to have the best outcome possible. He returned all of my calls within minutes and I always felt he was on top of our case. He promptly follow...
"I endorse this lawyer. I had the privilege of serving as co-counsel with Tim in a complex, high profile case. From the beginning of the case through jury verdict, I witnessed, first hand, his keen intellect, quick thinking, toughness courtroom savvy and integrity. In sum, Tim is an excellent attorney in all respects."
"I endorse William "Tim" Fleming. Several years ago Tim and I worked as co-counsel in a very complicated criminal defense. I was impressed with Tim's knowledge of the law and of the particular local procedures in Centre Co., all of which contributed to a successful result for our client. Since that time I have referred to Tim several other clients who had legal issues in Centre Co., such as DUI, underage drinking, and divorce. Each of them has thanked me for referring them to Tim and commented on the excellent representation he provided."
