Great results
Mr. Otto met with my wife and me to discuss a major problem we had with repair work done on our car by Midas, Inc. We had taken our car to Midas five times in a row to replace the front ball joints and other parts four times in a year and a half. Our front tires had to be replace four times as well. They finally gave up and the car had become so dangerous that we sold it--an older Jaguar to a friend who worked on cars for very little money. He discovered that Midas had used the wrong sized ball joints each time and had also failed to install another critical part. Our car had been truly dangerous and we barely escaped crashing once into oncoming traffic broadside--all because Midas had installed the wrong part. We also lost our fine car with low mileage. We explained our case to Mr. Otto who was very sympathetic to our situation and he collected all the relevant paperwork and testimonies and pursued Midas with offices out of state. Midas settled with a check that covered the major portion of what we had spent on their failed repairs. We were obviously very appreciative.

Response from Wilbur Otto January 14, 2016
Divorce is one of life's most stressful events - sometimes more so than death. At the very least, the legal profession is obligated to make this journey as pleasant as possible and to provide hope and confidence for the future.

Great man and awesome Lawyer
After a devastating loss in my family, I was looking for someone that would take charge of my situration. My first meeting with "Joe" left me feeling like I had found my man. He quickly had a plan for action and kept me up to date with developments along the way. He was always available to speak with me when I had questions or concerns. He is always upbeat and positive which gave me confidence. As my case took shape, I was amazed to learn of his many connections and deep respect he has gained in and around the Pittsburgh area. He is a true professional and I am so blessed to have met him. I will never forget what he did for my son and I.

Experienced Attorney who is also a great mentor
I had the pleasure of working with Wilber McCoy 'Joe' Otto over an 8 year period within the context of my role as a risk manager. He was the principal outside counsel who managed the captive insurance program and supervised the litigation and claims for a well known healthcare organization in Washington, DC. I especially appreciate his recent interest and assistance in helping to develop my professional career as a RN Consultant / Risk Manager.

Wilbur McCoy Otto, Attorney of Excellence
I have known Mr. Otto for 26 years as a personal friend and have first hand knowledge of his career as a practicing attorney in Pittsburgh. As a defense council for a very prestigious firm, his more than 45 years of courtroom experience was hardly ever matched, as to dedication, honesty, skill, and success. He has a reputation for his character and work that is to be admired. I had one occasion to use his legal services in 2010. He was extraordinary and delivered the results as I had hoped, with a planned and promptly executed approach to the case. I recommend him as being the most highly qualified person and attorney whom I have ever known. In that regard he has no equal.

Joe Otto legal representation
Mr. Otto has served as pro bono counsel for a non-profit foundation with which I am affiliated. He has successfully handled a variety of cases for the foundation over the years involving a wide range of legal and business issues. His strongest abilities are probably in negotiation. A particularly noteworthy instance of those abilities came in a matter in which the tile floor in our building had incurred water damage. Three or four different contractors had had a role in installing the total floor, and none was willing to assume responsibility. Mr. Otto convened a meeting of all the contractors together and encouraged them to use the opportunity to help us solve a problem rather than assign liabilities. Together the contractors were able to come up with an acceptable low-cost solution. Because of Mr. Otto's skill in getting the contractors to talk to one another and to answer specific questions which needed answers, we were able to avoid any protracted and costly legal action.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter
"I endorse this lawyer. Very smart, very experienced, and very ethical. Most importantly, has true compassion for injured individuals and families and, when appropriate, attempts to use the legal process to diminish their misery not multiple upon it as many defense lawyers do. His approach has saved his clients tremendous money over the years and earned him the respect of the plaintiffs' bar in the process."
Health care Attorney | Apr 03
Relationship: Family member
"Wilbur (Joe) Otto happens to be my father. I am extremely blessed to have grown up hearing him tell stories of the courtroom, listening to his conversations with opposing counsel and clients while at home or on vacation, and occasionally getting to hear him speak and perform in a formal setting. My most vivid memory is watching him go head-to-head with renowned trial lawyer Gerry Spence at a mock trial event sponsored by the University of Michigan. These truly are "performances" that are not taught in law school and are learned by spending many hours in the court room. There aren't many lawyers alive in this country today with the types of skills that my Dad fought hard to acquire over the past 50+ years as a trial attorney."
