Cranberry Township divorce attorney Kristin L. Skalos always has been drawn to helping others and through her prior experience in the field of social work found that people often were facing very difficult legal issues and were in a vulnerable place with nowhere to turn.

She initially pursued the practice of family law as it seemed to blend her love of the practice of social work, the practice of law, and her desire to help others through difficult times.

“My goal in practice is to help individuals through what is one of the most difficult times in their lives and get them through to the other side, while protecting their interests and advocating for them when they are unable to do so for themselves,” Ms. Skalos said.

Ms. Skalos possesses the ability to communicate emotionally charged issues and confusing legal concepts in a way that clients can understand and puts them at ease.

“I also believe my ability to aggressively advocate when necessary and productive, while also maintaining the ability to negotiate amicably is something I strive to do continuously in my practice,” she said.

As an attorney, Ms. Skalos’ goal is to be honest and communicate clearly with clients at the outset of their case, and throughout the process.

“That way we can manage expectations and ensure the client and I are on the same strategic page in terms of how to move their case forward,” she said. “I would tell my clients that my style is more aggressive in advocacy.”

Prior to joining Cordell & Cordell, Ms. Skalos practiced family law, juvenile dependency, estate planning and administration, and guardianships.
