The rules of ethics are clear that, if one has an outstanding balance, one is not owed their file. At current, this person has a significant unpaid balance with my office, thus this person does not have the file. Is Walmart forced to give one things for which they have not paid? If not, then why should I? How do I know that this is the same person? Because this is the ONLY time this type of thing has ever happened to me in six years of practice, so take that for what it is worth. In any event, I love my clients, and I work hard for them. (Heck, this person's new attorney said so on an AVVO review of me lol - check it out) That is, until they steal my work and effort by refusing to pay a bill. Ask around, I am more than willing to work with people on fees, but when one demands like a child a thing for which they have not paid, I will not be kind in response. After all, who is looking for a pushover for a lawyer? I am not apologetic for that fact, nor are this person's four prior attorneys to my count. If one is reading this review, feel free not to engage my services if you are planning on simply using my services, and then stiffing me on a bill. I would rather avoid this ridiculousness in the future. As to moral compass, one only need to go to Butler News on facebook, i.e. the website curated by this person's significant other, to see the caliber of person this is, particularly via the company this person chooses to keep. In short, it ain't pretty! DISCLAIMER: if my name EVER appears on that page in a negative context, I WILL NOT hesitate to engage in all appropriate legal means of engagement to make sure it never does again, and to collect any damages resulting from my presence on the website/page.
