Biography
Tom has been representing injury and wrongful death clients since 1997, obtaining millions of dollars for Pennsylvanians involved in car accidents, truck crashes, motorcycle wrecks, ATV accidents, bike accidents, dog bites, and medical malpractice.
Tom had been recognized as a Super Lawyer by SuperLawyers every year since 2015. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, and the Allegheny County Bar Association.
Tom has litigated cases in many courts of common pleas throughout Pennsylvania, as well as in the Commonwealth, Superior, and Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania. He also has litigated cases in the Western and Eastern Districts of the United States District Courts in Pennsylvania. He is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsyvlania, the United States District Court for the Western District of PA, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of PA, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
Tom graduated from Central Catholic High School, the University of Pittsburgh (B.S. Psychology), and the University of Akron School of Law. Upon graduating, he returned to Pittsburgh and began representing victims of negligence at a small Pittsburgh personal injury law firm. In 2023, Tom opened Berret Law Firm to continue providing high-level legal services to people who have been harmed by others.
