Melissa Ruefle Spencer

I graduated from Westminster College in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Sociology. I graduated from Duquesne University School of Law with her J.D. in 2003 as part of the evening program while working for Caroselli, Beachler, McTiernan & Conboy, L.L.C. as a paralegal during the day. Since 2003, I have been an associate with the law firm. I was admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania.  I practice exclusively in the area of asbestos litigation and am a  member of the Allegheny County Bar Association (Member of the BLI class of 2004-2005, serving on the YLD Council since 2005 and YLD Education Committee chair from 2007-2009), the Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations, Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, Pennsylvania Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice. 

In 2010, I was recognized by the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers as a Rising Star.

I am a very involved member of the Westminster College Alumni community including serving on the Pittsburgh Regional Alumni Committee and as a member of Westminster College Alumni Council (including President in 2008-2009). I am also involved in my community, assisting with the Plum High School Marching Band Colorguard Squad and coaching little league softball.  I am an active member of Riverside Community Church in Oakmont, PA.
