The laws that exist to govern and maintain order in our society can often prove difficult to understand, especially for one who is not trained and unfamiliar with the legal vernacular. My first significant encounter with the law occurred approximately 6 months ago when I was involved in a DUI accide...nt that could have ended my life and that of others. Thankfully, I was traveling alone and did not suffer any injuries other than totaling my car (minor in the large scope of things). After my accident took place, I was a nervous wreck because I was afraid that I was going to lose my job, my professional licenses, and that my public persona would be damage from one night's dumb (and I emphasize "dumb") decision. I have heard that getting an attorney for a DUI charge was a waist of money, but nothing could have been more to the contrary in regards to Mark Smith.
