Go elsewhere for proper defense

I was referred to this attorney through a legal plan, and unfortunately, it was a very frustrating experience. He told me he would file with the court to show I was not the owner of the business and shouldn’t have been personally sued—he never followed through. Instead of advocating for me, he allowe...d the opposing attorney to control the situation and took little to no meaningful action on my behalf. He also did not pursue a countersuit for $10,000 in damages to my car, despite discussing it. I would not recommend him if you’re looking for someone to actually defend your case.

Amazing!!

Jan was my first ever actual attorney. Our landlord was trying to screw us over because all three of my children ended up with elevated lead levels because of the peeling paint and they're constantly sick because of the amount of black mold in the home. My children's pediatrician ended up calling the... department of health and within 3 hours he was retaliating. This man was trying to sue us for $12,000 basically so that we would have to pay to repair the mold and whatnot. We didn't know what we were going to do. A very good friend of ours recommended his attorney to us and I could not be more grateful. We called him, sent him our stuff, he reviewed everything, and came 150% prepared to the hearing. We ended up walking away not owing a penny and not even having to pay rent for this month because it's inhabitable. If it wasn't for him we would be paying the full $12,000 because we don't know the law like he does. His personality is a bit strong, but I feel that's needed in a good lawyer.

Not willing to fight for you

Jan's "reasonable" price gets you less than nothing. He was well aware of papers he needed to file and let my ex beat him to the punch. Nothing was done on time or correctly. He didn't seem like he knew what the heck he was talking about or how the law worked. I had many incidences where he should ha...ve filed emergency custody and never made me aware of that option. My new attorney had everything done within the first week and is actually fighting my ex for my kids. He did less than the bare minimum and over the past year has hindered my case. Rushed me off the phone, rushed out of the courthouse after a hearing and gave me no guidance as what to do next. Please go elsewhere before you hire this clown.

Where are you?

My wife left me over 2 years ago. I'm still paying $1400/month in APL payments and Jan will not answer my emails or help force a divorce. After I payed my retainer and he went to court once, he stopped responding to correspondences. I even asked to set up a time to call him for info, at $200/hr, a...nd he wouldn't do that.

Drags his feet

This was the worst lawer I ever encountered, He ruined my custody case. I had to withdraw. He was told to file an emergency custody and waited 5 weeks before he had done so. I told him my X wife was driving and drinking with children in car, and many other facts where discussed with good reason to fi...le for emergency custody. Then when he was to Serve my X, he sent to wrong address. After Medoff's secretary called and said she had a returned letter, I told her he was fired. With two days left to serve her, they still did. Afer I told her to "throw the certified letter away, you and your boss are fired".This guy is a piece of work. I have never met such an unprofessional lawer in my life. DO NOT USE THIS LAWYER. Save your money, He does not put the work into what he charges. ""Lazy"" Not with custody, and probably not any other. He's a penny saver ad.
