Would not hire again

I hired David Zuckerman for an underage drinking case I WAS NOT EVEN GUILTY OF. I was WRONGLY CHARGED of underage drinking, when I was sober and did not have alcohol on me. I hired him due to his AVVO rating and due to other positive reviews. Unfortunately, I do not have positive things to say about... him. He was not prompt with communication ( I sent him an email asking a question, he did not respond, so three weeks later I sent him the same email and only then did he respond). Furthermore, I found him to be a little rude (but not that rude). Third, he did not even represent me in court. He instead sent some very inexperienced lawyer who knew nothing about my case! The outcome of this case, in which I was wrongfully charged in the first place, was that I had to go take an underage drinking class (even though I did 20 hours of community service prior to court date). I have had friends who have gone to the same court, for underage drinking charges they were guilty of, and got better outcomes without any legal representation. David might be a great guy, and he might actually be an amazing lawyer who cares about his clients, but I personally felt as if he was using me to make money and didn't care about the outcome of my case. Overall, I would not recommend him or hire him again.

To the extent you did not receive a prompt response to your email, we apologize. However, I provide my work cell phone number of 412-447-5580 to each of my clients. It bears noting from the beginning that your charge was dismissed as a result of a negotiated agreement reached on your behalf, which was the desired outcome all along. We explain risks and alternatives to our clients, allowing them to make decisions that best suit their interests. You chose not to proceed to trial on your case, electing to complete community service in advance of your court date with the goal of pursuing an agreement. Despite your regret, the decision you made was appropriate given the allegations in your case, and led to a favorable outcome (dismissal). As far as my associate Nick, he is a former public defender and has been recognized by the National Trial Lawyers as a Top 40 under 40 criminal defense attorney in PA. Your representation was part of a collaborative effort where both he and I discussed your case with you individually, and with each other. Nick has litigated a wide range of cases from summary offenses up through serious felony charges, with positive results. He was prepared to handle this case, and obtained the outcome you sought from the beginning. We welcome you to call us at 412-447-5580 to discuss your concerns personally, in the hopes that we can reach a mutual understanding about our respective positions.

Knowledgeable! Relatable! 100% Dedicated! A true Partner!

I hired David Zuckerman for my first offense DUI case. I was contacted by a ton of different firms once I was charged. I had consulted with many and he left a lasting impression on me. The impression was that he not only understood my position with the DUI, but he was sincere and incredible empatheti...c. He mentioned to me that I would more than likely receive ARD with or without his help due to my lack of criminal background. However, he explained some of the benefits of hiring an attorney and how that would positively impact me. He was REAL. He was not selling me anything. He was himself through and though. I knew after that intial call that I needed him to represent me throughout he process. I was a "nervous-Nelly" from the beginning and he just eased every nerve. He was available to me day and night - every text, call, email - answered promptly. He eased all of my concerns. He was not only my attorney but he was my confidant. I would recommend Dave a thousand times over. I have absolutely nothing but great things to say.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
