Stayed Suspension, Probation issued in PA, 2015
updated on 11/23/2015Suspension means an attorney will lose his or her license to practice law for a period of time. When a suspension is stayed and the attorney is given probation, the State monitors the attorney's activities for a time. If the probation period is uneventful, the attorney returns to practice when it expires.
“I did mishandle funds in my escrow account, which I voluntarily disclosed to the authorities. As a result of my many years of practice with no such problems ever before, I received a "stayed suspension" - like probation - and I continue to practice during the stayed suspension. Everyone makes mistakes, and I have learned from mine. I now keep much better records - perfect records - of my escrow account.”
