After a person, which I cared deeply about, filed bogus police reports and a PFA I was out of my home feeling like I had no rights. It's hard enough trying to understand what just happened let alone who to call or who to trust. I'm a big guy and that was being used against me even though I had no ...priors, I was not arrested the evening of this supposed incident, I left the home voluntarily etc. It's hard for people to understand how after so long in a relationship things can go so bad quickly and you are out looking in. The laws need to change in this area of practice because you really are guilty until proven innocent if you are accused of harassment or physical violence even if there is no evidence or proof. Once finding Mr. Spivak's website and contacting him I knew immediately by his demeanor over the phone that this may the level of competence I was seeking. I provided Mr. Spivak with all documentation I received including the police report for him to review and he asked me to explain the events of the evening in question. After reviewing the case he stated his fees and we proceeded to the PFA hearing. The case was dismissed due to a lack of evidence. We also had a Magisterial Hearing which went good as well. I provided Mr. Spivak with as much information as I could and I think the facts spoke loud and clear. It was and still is a confusing time just trying to understand how things can go so wrong but so far Mr. Spivak has been solid. He has communicated in a clear and professional manner and listens to your concerns and answers any questions you may have. I feel extremely comfortable recommending Mr. Spivak to anybody who may need to confront a similar issue.

I called his office to get info for defense of my nephew on a bogus PFA claim. I explained the entire situation to him and let him know the background of the many previous false allegations that had been made by this person against me personally. We spoke for about 20 minutes. Later in the day he spo...ke to my nephew also. My nephew liked him, but we were unable to come up with the retainer. Mr. Spivak asked for a $3,000 retainer and a fee of $175/hour. That is reasonable. Since we were unable to afford it I sent him an email back and thanked him for his time and just let him know that at the moment we would not be able to come up with the funds to retain him. I told him that if anything changed that we would be back in touch. I thanked him for everything and wished him well. A little while later he called me. He said that he got into this profession to help people. He said that we tugged at his heart and he could sense our desperation for help. He agreed to do the entire case, from beginning to end, for a flat fee of $2,000. He said that he knew that he was taking a risk because there is a very big chance that this could drag on (there was a chance of more than just the pfa) if there were criminal charges but that he wanted to help. I told him that he was about to make me cry and he was like a Godsend. I told him that we would pull the money together to make that happen. My nephew contacted him back and scheduled to meet him the next day to retain him. My nephew had his appointment the next day (yesterday). It was horrible. Todd terrified him with all of the possible worst case scenarios. Then he told him that he would never be able to do the whole thing for $2,000 and that he would do just the pfa for $2,000 but that only covered one day. If it was continued or stretched out for any reason it would be an additional $500/day and $175/hour for time spent working it out of court. He said that the $2,000 would only get him the one day of representation. By the time my nephew walked out he was terrified that he was going to go to prison but he would not hand this guy a penny. He just wanted out money but would not stand behind what he had told me. So now we are still searching for a good, experienced and trustworthy attorney.

Todd Spivak helped me through an extremely complicated case involving two girls who both filed PFAs against me for petty revenge. On top of that, one filed harassment charges. The allegations against me were detailed and seemingly unbeatable, since the two seemed to cooperate in their mission to dest...roy my reputation. Not only did Todd pick up my initial phone call at 10:00 pm the night I found out about these ridiculous charges, he also gave me some counseling on the phone to calm me down. Todd’s understanding, calm, and tactful demeanor during counseling did a great job at hiding his complete and total ferocity in the courtroom. He called objections for me that surprised everyone- even the judge. The judge sustained every last objection. Conversely, ALL of the plaintiffs’ objections we're all overruled. For the entirety of all the trials I was in, I could count on one hand how many times I even needed to speak! If you're under attack and going to war, Todd isn't just a shield- he's a one man army, navy, and air force. Paying a lawyer hourly would have cost me a fortune, Todd charged one flat fee and was with me without fail 24/7 over the entire ordeal. When I say 24/7, I mean I have spoken to him past midnight, moments after I called him expecting to leave a voicemail and talk the next day. He (and not a secretary) returns calls and emails lightning fast, while explaining each step of the process while weighing the risks with each possible outcome. By the time I had to make a decision with how to continue any particular step, my answer was a no-brainer. Without hesitation I would recommend Todd Spivak over any other lawyer- period. After six months of having to prove my innocence, I walked out of court today (without even seeing the inside of the courtroom) without any further concerns. There is absolutely no way I could thank him enough for his advice, defense, and council. During a time in my life when I seemingly was losing everything, including my previously (and currently) untarnished reputation, Todd was not just a fantastic lawyer, but a great friend, and protector of my sanity. If you are looking for the best, you found him. That was the review I wrote on May 6, 2015, and I am providing an update. Todd Has helped me with the process of expungement over the phone multiple times, as I am doing it myself. (It's a ton of paperwork, however it's do-able and a good deal of it is waiting.) Every time I have called with a question, however small; he has provided an answer. He has also done this free of charge, and asks how other things are going in my life. I have recommended several friends to him, all of which ended up working with him to the best of my knowledge. My friend felt much better about her case for custody, and to my knowledge she won, since she still has her kids. If you're looking for the best, look no further.

A true God send. Knowing nothing about my rights, nor what to do with the situation I was handed (PFA), Todd Spivak was suggested to me by a friend. I was against the wall and petrified due to the traumatic circumstances of being blindsided by a full on attack by my former partner. Todd was firm yet... patient.
