DO NOT USE THIS ATTORNEY!

Very nice guy. Very lousy lawyer. Screwed my divorce up from the very start. My wife was asking for huge maintenance after she left me and the kids. After reviewing my income and hers, Mr. Caserta assured me what she would owe me in child support would more than offset what I owe her in maintenan...ce. Break even right? Wrong! We had not even seen her financial affidavit yet (she couldn't be bothered to fill one out) and Tom agreed in a conference with her attorney and the judge that I would pay her $800.00 per month. Then he tried to tell me what a great deal he got me! After I went off on him, he sends her attorney and the judge a letter saying his client no longer agrees to this amount. When did I ever agree to this? Especially after he told me it would be break even! Try getting maintenance reduced after your lawyer already agreed to it. He had been very clear with me that we would not even negotiate without seeing her financials and he goes ahead and agrees to $800 per month. I know he was distracted with some of his own personal issues at the time but I am the one that will be paying for this. Not him. My new attorney has since gotten it reduced slightly but this is a mistake I will be paying for for a very long time. Am considering legal action to get my retainer back but my new attorney tells me its not worth the aggravation. Good ol boys club! Did I mention he recommended me forking out over $6000 for a retainer fee to a consultant firm to put a value on my business? My new attorney tells me that it would have ended up costing me $20,000 in fees by the time they were done. We have since avoided this and negotiated a settlement on the business value. Do Not use this attorney!
