Biography
Mr. Arutunian combines an uncompromising, result-driven approach to immigration cases, with the ethical and professional obligations required of high-level representation in front of United States federal agencies. He has represented individuals, small businesses and large companies in their ongoing and often complex immigration matters. He has led start-up and foreign companies through the establishment of U.S. operations, including corporate entity formation, and helped those companies transfer intra-company executives and other workers to their U.S. based operations. He has advised large and small companies on hiring of H-1B professionals, and assisted employers with compliance of USDOL and USCIS regulations. He has assisted Canadian professionals in their application for employment in the U.S. under NAFTA regulations and advised on border processing matters. He has led U.S. permanent residents through complexities often associated with naturalization. Mr. Arutunian has advised individuals seeking family reunification in family-based green card applications and couples seeking to reunite in the U.S. through fiancee visa petitions. Mr. Arutunian has helped clients through all steps of consular processing and visa interviews and through many other issues relating to immigration matters – of all levels of complexity. Mr. Arutunian is absolutely committed to delivering valuable results in business and personal immigration matters to clientele in the U.S. and around the world.
Prior to forming the Law Offices of Gevork Arutunian, PLLC., Mr. Arutunian has experience working in a general practice setting as well as a boutique immigration firm. He also interned for a state court judge and provided volunteer services for a not-for-profit organization in Western New York.
Mr. Arutunian entered University at Buffalo Law School on a Dean’s scholarship, received multiple scholarships while attending, and graduated magna cum laude. He was also the recipient of the Robert J. Connelly award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy upon graduation. His performance in law school was consistently ranked in the top 1-15% of his class. Mr. Arutunian served as the Executive Publications Editor and the Technology Editor of the Buffalo Intellectual Property Law Journal. He also studied international law and European Union law at the University of Oxford in England.
