Peter Nicholas Delucia

I graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in English Literature in 1995 and thereafter attended law school at Albany Law School of Union University graduating with my juris doctor degree in 2001.  I was admitted to practice as an attorney in New York State in 2002.

My career in criminal law began with an internship at the Albany County District Attorney's Office and continued through twelve years of service at the Broome County District Attorney's Office.  As a prosecutor, my career was dominated by trial work.  Beginning in the local courts of Broome Count, I tried crimes involving traffic infractions, Driving While Intoxicated, domestic violence, child abuse, white collar crime, and narcotics.  I was then promoted to felony level prosecution where I was tasked with prosecuting felony Driving While Intoxicated, Vehicular Assault and Vehicular Manslaughter cases. 

Ultimately, I was promoted to the position of Senior Assistant District Attorney where I handled predominantly the prosecution of violent felony crime.  This included homicide, arson, serious assaults, and sexual assault cases.  These assignments culminated in the prosecution of several high profile homicide and vehicular manslaughter cases.  In addition, I argued at the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division Third Judicial Department and the New York State Court of Appeals.

Throughout my career I have spent numerous hours teaching peace officers, police officers, and other attorneys criminal law and procedure both at in-service trainings, police academies and at the New York Prosecutor's Training Institute.
