Do it yourself for better results.

I have never had such an awful customer service experience, and I've had to call internet providers. I had an accident in May of '25 I contacted the law firm with regards to my tickets, provided all the information, and thought I was set. I was already in the middle of moving to a new state. I pro...vided my new address to the firm as soon as I had the mailbox and key, and had set up mail forwarding. I followed up approximately a few months later as I hadn't recieved any court bills, plea agreement, anything, and nothing from the firm. When I followed up they sounded very dismissive that I'm calling months later to see if I missed anything. At this time I reiterated I had moved out of state, and provided my address. I once again followed up a few more months later. The court still had not said or done anything, and I once again reiterated I had moved out of state, and provided my new address. I finally called again in April of '26 now. I happened to catch him on just as the plea agreement came through, he wanted to know if I would accept the courts offer, to which I said yes. And reconfirmed my address. I asked how long this turn around typically takes, a day, week, month, six. He told me theres no way to estimate, could be a week, could be 6 months. The court would mail it to him, and he would mail it to me. I once again reminded him I moved and reconfirmed my address. I followed up in May and spoke with the office. I asked if I had anything back from the courts, to which I was told no, and to just wait for it to be mailed to me. I said okay, and once again confirmed my address. I got an email letting me know I missed my final notice of payment due yesterday, June 2nd, and that I needed to pay by July or the court would put a civil judgement against me. I thankfully could pay my bill online, which I did. I reconfirmed I didn't have anything in the mail, I didn't. I called the law firm again, and asked how this could have happened? I have called twice since the email said they've mailed it to me, but when I spoke with them, they told me they hadn't received anything. I was told it was sent to the wrong address. An address I haven't used in almost 5 years. I have lived in 2 other addresses in New York before moving to a third change of address out of state. When I pressed for an explanation as to how this could have happened, I was told it was my fault for not updating my mailing address, I did. Then it was my fault for not going to the DMV, I did, then I was told that's what the courts have on file and they did it wrong, to which I asked, I thought you told me the courts would mail it to you, and you would mail it to me? To which I finally got "I guess someone made a mistake." I can not imagine being so dismissive and distracted of your clients that you can't give them a time estimate on when to expect a bill, a plea agreement, any information. I just have to call and hope for the best. During the course of our last call, the firm finally pulled up all the information and I found out that when he had "just gotten a plea agreement back" the firm had actually had it for several days. I think choosing to represent myself would have been a far less stressful endeavor and I would have had significant more clarity in what was going on with the courts. I would only recommend this firm to an enemy. I was so unconfident in what I was provided, I felt the need to call the courts directly and make sure I had everything, and that it was all paid.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
