I hired Mr DiConza to obtain a permit for a fence we put up, that an inspector said needed a permit or it comes down. His fee was $2,500. Mailed him a check and it was cashed! He called me a couple of times to ask a couple of questions about the fence that Town of Hempstead wanted to know. Gave him i...nfo, said he filed papers for permit and he'll be in touch. After 4 mths, called Mr. D., and he said he had been in the hosp and had cardiac problems. Apologized no one contacted us and he would be touch. Once again a few months later called him again, got recorder and left msg to RMC! Few days left another msg, then another. No c/b. Finally my husband went to his office, no answer, but he slid a letter under his door to CALL US! To this day, we have never heard from this lawyer again. He did file papers with town, so I kept leaving msgs for a partial return of our money. To this day, 4/3/19, never heard from him again and still have no permit. DON'T hire this guy and definitely don't give him full amount of money. Give half then remainder when he's finished and did a decent job. He cashed our check and ran!!! AND, he was recommended by a friend, so I didn't just pick him from the phonebook. I do hope he's alright, but don't use him.
