Peter L. Rand

Back in 2016, I hired Peter Rand to represent me for my divorce. I had gotten his information online, went for a consult, he was very professional courteous. I did not know that it would end there. After my retainer was paid, I never got any updates about my divorce proceedings. There was also a cour...t date that was missed. I emailed and called the office several times to get an update on what to do next. I also asked for an itemized bill to understand how my retainer was being used. Every time I called, the front desk would make an excuse and say he was not there and would call me back. This went on for months and he never called me back. I then had to hire another lawyer and pay another retainer fee. I never got my money back from Peter Rand nor did he ever respond to any of my inquiries. He ran away with my money.

Hired Peter as my attorney after I was served my divorce papers. I had just finished 2 years with a free attorney in family court with the soon to be ex husband. The free lawyer worked harder for me than Peter did, and that’s not saying much. To keep this review short and too the point, Mr. Rand does...n’t keep promises. I told him exactly what I wanted before we paid him the retainer and he agreed to everything. As we got closer to the end he changed his tune. Every court appearance resulted in ill prepared lawyers who were suppose to be working on going back and forth in hopes to come up with an agreement to avoid a trial. Instead of this happening and because It was difficult reaching him or getting a response from him in between court dates, every court date we showed up at resulted in being given another date to come back since no one was communicating and attempting to make an agreement between the court dates. On the final court date we ended up Finally for the first time I believe making the 1st attempt at an agreement and so the back and forth finally begun. This was all to avoid the trial set for that afternoon while I sat there for hours crying because the whole experience was wearing me down. if we went trial I was told I would have to pay another $10.000 retainer fee. In the end my husband and his lawyer left laughing with smiles on there face, and weeks later Im still trying to forgive myself for hiring this guy.

After hiring Mr. Rand to facilitate our commercial property closing for which his was paid, he has yet to give us our closing statement detailing where the proceeds of the money went, including funds from the escrow account. We called, emailed and texted and received nothing but excuse after excuse a...nd promises the closing statement would be forthcoming. We are now going on 8 months and no resolution of where and to who our funds were disbursed to. Highly unethical to hold back such an important document that legally belongs to us. We have bought & sold several properties in the past and every attorney was prompt with our paperwork, until we hired Peter Rand. We do not recommend this law firm.

I recently hired Peter Rand and he took my 3500 and didn't do anything for me. He said he wrote up a motion and submitted it to the courts but when the judges decision came none of the evidence that he had in his paperwork was looked at by the court. I told him to just reread the judges decision it c...learly indicates that his petition and any papers submitted therewith were wholly insufficient to prove anything which proves the judge never saw it. I called him numerous times and he never calls back. When he did he said"You paid me to draft an affidavit.  We did. It’s stamped received by the court. I don’t control what the court does or what they decide. Results are never guaranteed. That’s litigation. I never saw proof that it was stamped but there is proof that it wasnt submitted and not in my file. I lost a case that was a slam dunk.  I asked for a refund and he is now giving me the run around.

I have worked with many other lawyers before i began working with Peter. He is really excellent at his job and will work hard to win your case! I will definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone who needs an excellent lawyer. He is very easy to get in touch with and his prices are very fair-...Thanks Peter!!
