Michael came recommended by a friend that he represented in a divorce action. He was the first and only lawyer I consulted. I have no regrets. Michael was handed a very difficult situation in the 11th hour of my divorce proceedings, coming into the picture right before a scheduled trial date (due to circumstances beyond either of our control with my previous attorney). His level of professionalism is exceptional and his knowledge of the div...orce laws is extensive. My circumstances were a bit complex and negotiations, prior to Michael's involvement, were always contentious. He was available when I needed him and he always took the time to explain what he felt would be the most effective course of action. He listened to my concerns and made sure he fully understood all of the details, especially those surrounding the financial circumstances. Michael took the time to answer all of my questions and if I stated something I expected, that he knew, legally, could prove difficult, he didn't dismiss me. Instead, he took as much time as needed to help me understand what might be involved should I choose a particular course of action, including how that might backfire on me. He expedited meetings and despite my own trepidations about being "bullied," I trusted Michael would not let that happen and he didn't let it happen. Of utmost important, our communication was always open, honest and he kept me in the loop during every step of the process. He was always available by phone. Every call I placed was either answered on the spot or if he was not available, returned the same day. Divorce is an emotional roller-coaster. Having an attorney who helps not only navigate the legalities, but is able to facilitate with the emotional aspect to help keep things in their proper perspective is rare. I see the relationship between a client and their attorney as sacred, particularly in divorce proceedings. My goal was to put this all behind me but I was mindful of the need for a fair settlement to secure my future financial well-being. Michael was always mindful of this and did everything within his power to move this along on my behalf. Each and every step of the way, I knew my best interests were *his* main goal. He negotiated a fair settlement and make sure he kept moving the ball forward. I am grateful for his involvement in bringing my divorce to a speedy conclusion.

He was highly recommended after spending a enormous amount of money through another attorney that did not handle my case properly. Micheal Rubenfeld was very patient, understanding and most important knowledge...able. He gave a very fair price and always took the high road in a very nasty divorce. He helped me in a quick pinch when my previous lawyer abandoned me in my child support case. He was able to prove what was wrong in the action and I was given a reprieve. After this I knew I had the right guy to represent me. After a long divorce where the other side purposely submitting improper information and unnecessarily delaying the case. He was able to negotiate a fair settlement where my child support was reduced, my retirement and my other assets were not affected. I got more time to spend with my kids. Also I did not have to pay alimony. He did a phenomenal job and he will do a great job for you as well. Keep in mind , my case was a slightly bizarre and difficult one and he handled it like a champ.

I have personally used Michael Rubenfeld for 10 years, pertaining to different custody issues. From the moment you call the office and deal with his secertary Joan, to the point you perosnally speak with Michael, they provide you with nothing but a 100% of there attention. For any parent its very un...easy to place your childrens future in the eyes of the court but when you have a lawyer that listens to every word and concern you have makes a major difference.
