Richard Bruce Rosenthal, Esq. - Columbia College 1975, Brooklyn Law 1978, Admitted NYS, EDNY, SDNY, NDNY, CDIL, NDOH, WDWI, DCO, NDIN & DCT General Litigation Practice with a concentration in Animal Rights. Criminal Defense, Matrimonial and Family Law and Consumer Advocacy 1979 - present.
After 30 years of practice I found my calling and rediscovered my passion for the law in 2009 when confronted with the imminent execution of a Greyhound named Lexus for doing what she had been bred for thousands of years to do. After saving her life, we started receiving calls from greyhound rescue groups all over the country asking for my advice and assistance on similar matters. Recognizing the need for this type of resource The Lexus Project was created. In 2011 after stepping in to save a Siberian husky facing death in Tolland, Ct. for killing chickens that drew some intense media coverage we realized that no dog was safe unless all were and redefined our mission to include defense for all breeds of dogs unjustly imprisoned or facing execution.

Replied last June 16, 2016A lawyer’s duty to keep client confidence has few exceptions and in abundance of caution I do not feel at liberty to respond in a point-by-point fashion in this forum. Suffice it to say that I do not believe that the post presents a fair and accurate picture of the events. In dealing with a bankruptcy matter there are a number of disclosures that the Bankruptcy Rules require must be made at the first consultation. Thus it would be improper to delve into the specific details of the possible bankruptcy without first providing the disclosures. A 15 minute telephone consultation can only properly deal with general questions concerning a client’s situation and does not create the formation of an attorney client relationship for the underlying case and thus is generally not an appropriate forum to delve into the specific and confidential details of the matter necessary to give a full and specific legal opinion. It is for this reason that we offer a free in person consultation which allows a much more in depth analysis of the client’s issues and allows us to discuss possible alternative methods of dealing with the case.
