Scott focuses his practice on bankruptcy litigation, including Chapter 7, Chapter 13 and Chapter 11 filings. He previously was an Associate of another Capital Region firm and a New York City International AMLAW 100 Firm. He has represented secured lenders, debtors, trustees, and creditor committees in consumer and commercial bankruptcies throughout the northeast corridor and has represented national lender institutions.
Scott has extensive client representation court experience in U.S. Bankruptcy Courts, U.S. District Courts and New York State Supreme Courts. Scott has represented individuals and companies in all aspects of bankruptcy disputes. He has litigated all manner of bankruptcy disputes including fraud-based / preference actions, claim disputes, non-dischargeability actions, mortgage and lien stripping on residential homes, rejection of executory contracts and leases, relief from automatic stay, objections to confirmation and plan modification, and negotiating and drafting forbearance and recapitalization agreements.
Locally, Scott, through Chapter 11, has reorganized a national service provider and liquidated an international company’s car dealership franchise. Scott has international experience representing a creditors’ committee (with over 60,000 creditors) in an international bankruptcy case involving U.K. businesses, and representation of numerous financial services providers and manufacturers in the airline and automotive industries’ Chapter 11 filings.
Scott was awarded Academic Achievement Scholarships and Academic Merit Scholarships and earned C.A.L.I. Awards for Academic Excellence in Legal Methods I, Legal Methods II and Federal Income Tax. He has also contributed to the publication, “Restructuring Sovereign Debt,” in The Law of International Insolvencies and Debt Restructurings, Oxford University, 2006.

excllent attorney
Scott has been a great attorney and I would recommend him to anyone that need a kind,understanding praticle attorney. He has been the ray of sunshine in the clouded world of that has been the last few years for me. He should really start his own practice.
