Megan Gallagher has over 37 years’ experience working as a prosecutor and a defense attorney. She began her career as an assistant district attorney in Nassau County handling countless cases including violent street crimes, drug crimes and multi-million-dollar frauds. Megan spent nine years as a defense attorney using her experience as a prosecutor to defend and protect the rights of numerous clients achieving positive results. In 2012 Megan became a special assistant attorney general for the Office of the New York State Attorney General. While there she protected the rights and welfare of elderly and incapacitated individuals by prosecuting criminals for assault mistreatment and neglect. During the Covid-19 pandemic in nursing homes, Megan lead a team of professionals investigating nursing homes throughout New York State. In addition, Megan collected millions of dollars stolen from the Medicaid program. Megan’s accomplishments also include being an adjunct professor at Hofstra School of Law.
