Marcus Cheung

Marcus Cheung, a partner at Smith, Cheung & Lauterborn PC, compassionately embodies the vocation of a lawyer who understands the spirit of service to the individuals who select him as their attorney. He formulates arguments for the sake of logically arranging evidence to substantiate the claims of his clients, but he also works with a sensitivity that reflects the background of someone who knows how to advocate for others with sympathy and grace. Marcus earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, where he received the Daniel A. Furlong Award for Outstanding Service and Leadership, along with the ABA Award for Excellence in the Study of Labor & Employment Law. He became the first law school graduate of the Class of 2011 to become a member of the Board of Advisors to the Center for Labor & Employment Law at St. John’s University’s School of Law. In addition to service on the Executive Board of the Asian Pacific American Law Students’ Association, he also served as the Vice President of the Evening Students’ Association.

Marcus completed his undergraduate studies (cum laude with a B.S. in Business Management and a minor in English) at St. John’s University, which also conferred upon him the honors of the Outstanding Student Achievement Award Medalist and the Martin DePaul Award. Marcus has memberships in the New York State Trial Lawyers’ Association, Queens County Bar Association, and the Asian American Bar Association of New York.
