Court Cousins

Court Cousins, an associate in the firm's Global Insurance Services Practice Group, counsels and defends clients in the insurance industry nationwide. His experience includes drafting policies, rendering coverage opinions, providing auditing services, advising on legal and regulatory compliance, and representing insurers before a variety of regulatory agencies. He handles matters from inception through completion, helping clients find the best path to resolution of their complex legal issues — be it through litigation, arbitration, or mediation. Court offers clients extensive experience with coverage matters involving directors and officers liability, errors and omissions, commercial general liability, property and casualty, financial lines, aviation, and cyber liability. He has also represented and counseled clients concerning breaches of contract/fiduciary duty, business torts, commercial financing, and labor and employment issues.

Prior to law school, Court earned his bachelor's in political science from Empire State College. He went on to earn his juris doctor from Hofstra Law School, where he was the editor-in-chief of the Hofstra Journal of International Business and Law (Vol. IX) and the recipient of a Gold Public Service Award. During his time at Hofstra, he was also a student-advocate for the Unemployment Action Center, where he represented claimants in more than 45 administrative trials and appeals, and was also judicial extern for the Hon. Ira B. Warshawsky (ret.) of the Commercial Division of the New York State Supreme Court.
