I recommend him

I wanted a nice civilized divorce, even though my ex wanted a nasty one. Andrew was very good and well-informed, as well as responsive. He might not suit someone who wants a savage attorney who draws blood, but that's a matter of personal taste.

Relationship: Worked for lawyer

"After working for Andrew Blum for several years I strongly endorse him. Andrew is the type of lawyer that does not shy away from complex or intense family law matters and is able to help a client navigate through such a case. Andrew is also able to assist a client in seeing a clearer picture of what a possible outcome of their case may be and does not hesitate to spend the time necessary to explain that to the client in layman’s terms thereby helping a case come to an amicable resolution. If a case cannot settle, Andrew is an excellent trial lawyer who not only prepares the case but his client as well."

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"Andrew and I got to know each other on two contested divorce matters. Andrew was extremely well versed in the law, and a very effective advocate for his client. While a tough adversary, he is always professional. He is known by both the judges and opposing counsel as one of the best family and divorce lawyers in the local area. While being a strong advocate, Andrew is also financially savvy and focused on fair and equitable results. Over the past twenty years, Andrew has not only been an adversary, but has grown into a professional resource who I refer trusted clients to on a regular basis. Andrew is smart, reasonable, knows what he is doing, and he cares about his clients. An outstanding lawyer, and a great guy. I give him my highest recommendation."

Sample of Legal Cases

Freiser v Lopez

After a protracted trial, and despite the fact the the "Custody forensic report" was in favor of the father, I nonetheless secured residential custody of the parties' child for our client, the mother.

Goldman v Goldman

The trial court granted all "relief" sought by our client and she received 50% of the marital estate (together with an award of legal fees) notwithstanding that her husband sought a large separate property credit.

Seeback v Seeback

The trial court rendered a decision which gave my client, the mother, sole custody and sole decision making, and limited the father to supervised visitation. The trial court also awarded a disproportionate share of the marital estate to my client.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
