Xavier A. Palacios founded The Law Offices of Xavier A. Palacios & Associates in 2005, a boutique law firm, which specializes in Criminal, Civil and Immigration litigation. In 2013, due to the firm’s expansion, Xavier changed the name of The Law Offices of Xavier A. Palacios & Associates to Palacios Law Group.
Xavier Palacios started his career in 1996 as an attorney at the esteemed firm Pillari and Vella Esqs. That firm specialized in litigation, tackling high profile criminal and personal injury cases. In 2001 Xavier was made a partner in the new firm of Pillari, Vella & Palacios, LLP, a firm that became recognized as a pioneer of innovative trial techniques in federal immigration cases.
Xavier received his Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University in 1992 where he majored in Political Science. He graduated from Boston University School of Law with his Jurisprudence Doctorate degree in 1995 and was admitted as a New York Attorney in 1997. Xavier is a member of the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association, the Suffolk County Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyer’s Association, the Long Island Hispanic Bar Association and the National Immigration Project.
When not practicing law Xavier dedicates much of his time to non-for-profit entities and the people they serve. He is very active with Huntington Hospital and currently serves as a mentor to a young boy through the Nassau County Bar Association at Westbury Middle School.
In 2010, Xavier co-founded Friends of Huntington Station Latin Quarter, which is an organization established to revitalize Huntington Station through business development, social conditioning, beautification, youth programs, mentorship, vocational training and community counseling. The town of Huntington and Suffolk County issued Proclamations in recognition of the organization’s efforts. Xavier also is an elected member of the Huntington Public School Board. He was elected in 2012 and serves as an active member on the board.
Xavier provides creative litigation techniques to clients with complex legal issues but he also believes strongly in volunteering his services to the less fortunate and under his leadership, Xavier’s law firm has maintained a strong tradition of pro-bono service for the under represented.
