Sharmela Bachu

I hired Ms. Bachu on a few occasions. Each time she reinforced my assumption that she was not a good lawyer. In the last case I hired her for, she dragged it out for years. She billed me throughout -"billked" some might say- only to drop out of the fight in the end after demanding a retainer. My paym...ents were always prompt, btw, and my only assumption for why she might do this is if she sensed my dissatisfaction with her performance and anticipated me taking my business from her. In our consultation before my defense, she promised a favorable outcome, and it was the only time she maintained a pleasant character. Meanwhile, for the entire duration of the case, she kept me in the dark about the details and progress of my case and all she could ever say was that she was "handling it," or "waiting on the other attorney". I would have preferred her honesty if she had told me of any potential difficulties and poor likelihood of success, or settlement options. In closing, she is rude and unprofessional in conversation, and had little to no concern for me as a client. She was belligerent and temperamental with me on several occasions and exhibits no compassion. There is bluntness and there is snobbery, Ms Bachu strongly exhibits the latter.
