Btzalel Barak Hirschhorn

I have used Btzalel numerous times for advice in bankruptcy legal matters. I did not retain him, but have had many consultation sessions to know what direction to head in and he gave excellent information. I would certainly retain him if I needed as he has a great deal of experience in the Federal co...urt system, and seems dedicated to his clients. I appreciated his advice and will use him again for consultation if I need.

I retained this attorney for 2 different small claims court cases. I did not appreciate his overall demeanor. He does not listen to the client first before responding and when asked about something either does not respond or responds with a totally unrelated answer. Each retainer agreement was $350.0...0 for up to 2 court appearances and the consultation. However, I kept being reminded over and over on how I take up his time that he is not being compensated for it. When I did offer to pay him for additional consultation or advice he did not accept it but still threw it up in my face that I am taking up his time without pay. To me, what the retainer agreement says, it says. If the amount of $350.00 was not sufficient then that should have been addressed from the beginning OR the retainer agreement should clearly state that additional legal fees may accrue if deemed necessary. I also believe he lacks experience and has given me conflicting information and when I challenged him on it he got defensive and responded more rudely, thinking he knows everything instead of acknowledging his error and make amends. I did not like the way he handled the 2 cases for me and would not hire him in the future or recommend him to others. I think he needs to be more professional and proper in how he communicates with his clients, listen more, take a sincere interest in the welfare of his clients and be more clear on the cost of the services provided and what the objectives are. To play down the significance of a small claims case is not appropriate or to claim that the outcome of it is also not a major thing is also inappropriate. It is true most attorneys do not take small claims cases but those that do should be committed to the case and their clients.
