Richard Beckerman

My name is Richard Beckerman, Esq. and I was born in Queens N.Y.  Shortly thereafter, I moved to Nassau County where I was raised by a family of professionals that taught me the value of hard work and a sense of compassion to those under my care.   I am an alumnus from the University of Delaware and received my Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law in 2008.

Upon my admission in 2008, I worked at a boutique high asset matrimonial law firm where I learned the ropes on how to effectively represent many wonderful people during some of the most difficult times in their lives.  As my experience grew I brought my skills to a prominent divorce firm in Queens where I led the firm as the senior litigation associate.    During this time, I had the privilege to hone my skills at both trial advocacy and the art of negotiation, developing a powerful and respected reputation among matrimonial judges and other attorneys. I handled every major trial at the firm for 5 years as well as personally represented only clients with the most difficult of cases. Such cases ranged from hotly contested custody battles to businesses and real estate valued in the millions. Many of my clients came to me after their prior attorneys were not experienced enough to handle their case effectively.  I take pride in the fact that my ability to negotiate results in most of my cases being resolved to my client’s satisfaction without the need to pay for costly trials.  In the event the trial is necessary, however, I have the knowledge of the law and the experience at trial to make you feel safe knowing your interests will be protected.

In 2017 I was nominated and selected as a rising star SuperLawyer, which means I was ranked in the top 2.5% of family law attorneys in the state of New York under the age of 40.
