Marna Felice Berkman

Marna F. Berkman has been practicing law in New York for nearly twenty years and is the managing member of The Berkman Law Office, LLC. She received her J.D. degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1993 and her B.A. cum laude from Barnard College, Columbia University in 1990.

In addition to being admitted in the courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, Marna is admitted to practice law in the state of Massachusetts.

Daughter of legendary Brooklyn trial lawyer Charles Berkman, who founded The Berkman Law Office, LLC, Marna grew up completely steeped in the world of personal injury litigation. Hearing all of her father’s stories, meeting his clients, and working at his office in the summers, Marna saw firsthand what running a family law office was all about, and she very early in her life developed a love for helping accident victims and a dedication to fighting for the best outcomes for their cases.

After gaining her start as a lawyer practicing law in a personal injury firm in Boston, Massachusetts, Marna returned to New York in 1995 and began practicing with her father. Inheriting her father’s natural, never-say-no negotiation style and his extreme devotion to his clients and their best interests, to this day she is proud when insurance adjusters and defense lawyers tell her that it is clear that she is Charlie’s daughter.

Marna may be quiet, gentle, and empathetic, but her clients know that her demeanor is deceptive as she fights every case to the bitter end, recovering every last dollar possible for them. It is this assiduousness which makes her not only a great lawyer, negotiator, and manager, but also a great mother. (Several years ago, Marna brought her youngest child to work with her, for just over the first year of her daughter’s life, so that she could both nurse her and continue to run her office.
