Jonathan Matthew Stein

I was referred to Mr. Stein by a friend. I hired him for a breach of contract matter - a subcontractor had placed an unlawful lien on a construction job on which I was acting as general contractor. He handled my case in a swift and professional manner and had the lien vacated. I was also awarded a si...gnificant amount of money for the damage caused to my company's reputation. I continue to retain him on a regular basis for preemptive matters, such as drafting. His strategies are very insightful and hard-hitting. You cannot go wrong with this attorney.

I hired attorney Stein a few years ago. I paid him a retainer that was to be used for obtaining court documents and legal fees as it was a collections case and he would be paid on a contingency basis. In the years following, he never sent me any documentation, never contacted me unless I contacted hi...m, gave me excuse after excuse (personal illnesses, family illnesses etc.) why he couldn't get things done. Then after not hearing from him for months, I would call him and ask him how his particular issue was doing and he would respond with "what issue, illness, etc" you get the point. When ever he would get an idea and say he would do something, he never followed through and nothing ever got done. He once told me that he sent out a questionnaire and subpoena but when I asked him for the paper work, he couldn't produce any. I believe that Mr. Stein fraudulently represented his expertise as an attorney to me and gave up trying to resolve my case some time ago but put me off each time with a new idea that he never followed through on. I will seek compensation for his malfeasance.
