Keith I. Braunfotel began his legal career at the Kings County District Attorneys office in Brooklyn, New York. After leaving the District Attorney's Office he began representing Police Unions, including the New York City Policemen's Benevolent Association and the Rockland County Patrolmen's Benevolent Association. During his tenure representing police unions he was able to provide legal assistance to members on various legal issues; including personal injury, workers' compensation, criminal defense, and real estate.

Mr. Braunfotel continues to make time for his community. Mr. Braunfotel is the Chairman of the Assigned Counsel Plan of Rockland County, which provides underprivileged people with legal assistance. He is a member of the New City Rotary Club and an Executive Committee Member of the American Heart Association. Mr. Braunfotel is also General Counsel to the Rockland County Solid Waste Management Authority.

Mr. Braunfotel is member of the Rockland County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and The New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Mr. Braunfotel graduated from New York University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and International Business. He graduated from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1994 with a Juris Doctorate. He is admitted to practice in The State of New York including the Eastern and Southern Federal District Courts.

Way beyond the call of duty
A young immigrant friend, purchasing a first home, found himself navigating not only a foreign language, but a totally unfamiliar business and legal environment. Accompanying him on this challenging voyage, I steered him to Keith Braunfels’ firm. Where Eloisa Polanco went way beyond the call of duty, as she professionally, patiently and humanly took the time to help him understand each new step of the way. Which unexpectedly became vastly more complex than anticipated, due to need to navigate the regulatory, environmental and legal responsibilities surrounding an oil-tank removal prior to closing.

Did a great job on a last minute case
I am a lawyer. I asked Keith to handle a case for a client of mine. I literally called him a few minutes before the court appearance. His office was very close to the court so he ran over and handled the matter a few minutes later. He got a great outcome!

Great Firm!!!!
I called the firm to help a friend out with an automobile violation. We do not live in the area. Eloisa, Keith assistant, went above and beyond to make the whole process absolutely painless. Communication was great. And there was no need for my friend to take a day off of work for court. They handled everything. He was also extremely happy with the outcome as well!!!
