Colin J. Dunnigan

Colin J. Dunnigan, Esq. is a Partner at the Law Offices of James J. Sexton. Mr. Dunnigan intentionally focuses his practice exclusively in the areas of Divorce and Family Law. He is admitted to the New York State Bar, and is a Member of the Rockland County Bar Association and Rockland County Women's Bar Association. In 2016 he was named Partner making him the first attorney elevated to that position in the firm’s 16 year history.

Mr. Dunnigan majored in Philosophy, with a minor in Classical Civilization at Fordham University. He graduated from Pace Law School in 2013. During his time at Pace Law, he interned at Rockland County District Attorney Office and Honorable Judge William K. Nelson Rockland County Criminal Court.

Mr. Dunnigan regards the law as a profession that utilizes his gifts on a regular basis. Whether he is advocating in the courtroom, negotiating a settlement, or drafting applications, he enjoys the challenge of being at his best at all times. His specialisms of Divorce and Family Law require the flexibility to respond and react in a manner befitting each client’s needs. At times he may have to argue vigorously and passionately for relief, while at other times he needs to approach a case from a result driven mindset in order to achieve a lasting settlement. He has thrived professionally in this environment and has successfully litigated hundreds of cases related to Divorce and Family Law.

Mr. Dunnigan strongly believes that under the laws of our government, every person is entitled to zealous advocacy. He takes such a right most seriously and is honored to be a voice for persons who may otherwise go unheard.
