Nightmare

This guy was a real joke. Initially, he said all the right things that you would want an attorney to say in your defense. But, during the course of my case he seemed ill prepared and eventually gave my opposition everything they asked for and more without a fight. He never argued my case in the cour...troom and we never met to prepare for the next court dates. On one occasion he even showed up 2 hours late to court after my repeated phone calls to locate him. It was a good thing that I remembered that next courtroom dates. He gave me some bogus excuse when he got there. I don't think he had any intention of coming that day. My experience was a total nightmare. It set my life back several years.

He has been disbarred!

I just read a review that mirrors mine. I hired Ian to help me with a family court case and to make a long story short he filed documents late, lied about ever trying to serve the Respondent and lied about appearing in court on my behalf. I tried to contact him t find out when my next court date was ...and he told me he would call me back .. that's the last I ever heard from him. I finally called Family Court and was told my case was dismissed due to non appearance - I was floored! He told he not to appear that he would attend and then he didn't show up and lied that he did . Luckily I was advised to write the judge directly and my case was reinstated. The bad part was that it was not resinstated to the original day I filed it was resinstated to the new date and so I have lost almost two years in my petition arrears request . I have since learned that Mr Fields had severe complaints against him , and is hustling people out of their money as opposed to helping them. What a waste and disappoint. Make sure you don't hire him as he is finally disbarred as of July 2017!!! Check before you work with him because he may try to continue practicing without a license ....

Lier

When first hired he was very helpful and knowledgeable, made me feel as if I can trust him. Only later realized that he lied about court dates and hearings. Nightmare to get him to call you back or do anything on your case. When asked him to give me conformational paperwork on the progress of the cou...rt case: excuses and promises how he would deliver the documents via email, then through mail, then personally..... and never received anything back; in fact, after going to court myself to find out if any work was done, stunned by the fact he has not done ANYTHING. Please, beware of hiring this person for any type of court cases. He does not have an office that he works from, or secretary who handles his paperwork. He is a liar and his license is DELINQUENT status. The Bar Association is trying to reach him because of multiple complaints received on him.

Overmatched

While reviewing my case, he came across very professional and knowledgable about my situation. He made me feel very comfortable with the matters at hand. When we go to court he seemed overmatched by the other lawyer. He filed incorrect paperwork and the judge discounted his legal knowledge and mot...ions. I changed to a different attorney.
