In 1996, he joined Smith, Buss & Jacobs, LLP, in Yonkers where he was a partner and head of the matrimonial department.
Mr. Burrows' most notable cases include a 2015 victory in which social media pages played a key role. Mr. Burrows' success in this widely-discussed case set a precedent for the use of Facebook content as evidence in New York custody disputes.
Alongside his work as an attorney, Mr. Burrows has been active in civic leadership for many years. He previously served ten years on the Yonkers City Council of which seven of those years he was Majority Leader. In 2005, Mr. Burrows was elected as Westchester County's 15th District county legislator and he currently continues to serve in that role.
