Biography
Daniel A. Hochheiser is a New York criminal defense attorney with offices in Scarsdale, NY in Westchester County who has been defending criminal cases in the New York State and Federal Courts for the past 17 years. Prior to becoming a defense lawyer, Mr. Hochheiser served as an assistant district attorney in Bronx County for 3 years. Most recently in August of 2017, Mr. Hochheiser won an acquittal in Bronx County Supreme Court after a jury trial for a client (member of the New York Fire Department) charged with Aggravated Vehicular Assault, DWI and other felony charges. He has been hired to represent a variety of individuals and companies charged with white collar crimes in New York including: a former New York State Senate Majority Leader charged in a federal tax fraud case, the President of a subsidiary of a Global Advertising Conglomerate charged with a federal accounting fraud, the Manhattan Madame who was charged with promoting prostitution and money laundering, an accountant charged in the Big Apple Oriental Tours case involving allegations of running sex tours overseas, and represented a well-known Chinese business woman accused of running a vast alien smuggling operation in a case dubbed “the Golden Venture” case by the media. Mr. Hochheiser is equally well known for representing clients charged in violent crime cases involving murder for hire, gang assault, racketeering, conspiracy, and narcotics trafficking. Mr. Hochheiser has tried a variety of criminal cases throughout New York State and federal courts in New York. He has argued a variety of criminal appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and before the First and Second Departments of the Appellate Division of the State of New York. Mr. Hochheiser is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyer, New York Criminal Bar Association, the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Bronx County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
