Unprofessional and insulting

At the recommendation of my realtor, I hired Sheri last spring. A friend asked me today if I could recommend a lawyer and it all came back to me. I told him about the degrading experience and he suggested that I post a review. Good idea. When I hired Sheri over the phone she was very nice. On ...the day of the closing she was very nice. Everything in between was a disaster. I would call her with questions and my calls would go unanswered. She doesn't have a secretary. When she would speak to me, she would be insulting, talk down to me and would not explain processes to me. She was always too busy and acted as though I was a burden. When you hire an attorney for such a large transaction, they should be available to answer questions and let you know what is next and what to expect. I did not expect her to be available 24-7, but to answer the occasional phone call and not to be rude and insulting. We closed and everything eventually was fine, but the process was awful and I know that this is not the way an attorney should behave. If she can't afford a paralegal, maybe she should find another line of work. Do not use. Terrible experience.

Absolutely incompetent

Go somewhere else. Anywhere else. She was unprofessional and borderline amateurish. After scheduling a closing, we find out that the lender attorney she chose was not qualified to represent the lender and she refused to use another lender attorney. Further both these geniuses didn't even have al...l the proper documentation to execute. Didn't have a title closer. I had to pay a travel fee to the seller's attorney because she refused to travel. I cannot stress enough just how awful an attorney she is.

Fine attorney

I spent 36 years in the corporate real estate business as a broker representing major corporations and also a developer of office/ mixed use buildings; as a result I dealt with hundreds of lawyers. We recently engaged Sheri Padernacht to represent us in the sale of our apartment in NYC. Sheri is a ...responsible and capable attorney. She did a fine job, very attentive and professional. As always, we had some issues but she effectively cleared the way. I highly recommend her. Alan, Avon, Co.

Real Estate Agent (Have used her for Buyer Representation on Purchase)

I work in real estate and what find is that most attorneys in my area always like to play nice because they all know each other. Sheri on the other likes to the right thing and represents her clients best interest. She doesn’t allow people to walk over her clients and makes sure she always does the l...egally correct thing. She is firm and realistic. If you want an attorney who is going to just move the transaction along and not care, then don’t hire her. If you want an attorney who is going to fight for you then make sure you hire Sheri.

Unprofessional

I don’t usually right bad reviews because I believe we are human beings and we all make mistakes, but Sheri is on a whole different level. She is extremely unprofessional and unethical. Does not care for her clients and acts as if they are wasting her time. Regardless of what type of transaction you ...are doing please don’t take anyones recommendation to use her. Especially for real estate. Pay a few dollars more and have someone who will not only protect your interests but will also treat you like a person.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I endorse this lawyer. I have been practicing law for almost 50 years. Most of my practice is litigation, comml. I rarely do transactional law. When I had to sell my property, I needed someone who could do the job efficiently, professionally, and competently. Someone recommended Sheri. She fit all three bills. I would not hesitate one iota in recommending Sheri if you, or your client, requires a real estate attorney. She gets a 9 out of 10 [only Bo Derek gets a 10.]"
