Hired Attorney Malia to handle an issue with my landlord. Bottom line my check was cashed. But my phone calls and emails were rarely if ever returned. Prior to hiring another attorney, I sent 6 emails over the course of 11 days before I got a single response stating he was out of town for the next se...veral weeks. Not the type of service I expected. Not to mention we missed an important deadline due to papers not being drafted prior to his vacation. Overall extremely unhelpful. But lesson learned make sure they return your phone calls before you cut a check.

I hired this attorney to sort out a simple family issue. He was fantastic up until we went to court. He did not do what the judge instructed but instead the court alerted me that they had not received important paper work from him and that the decision was in danger of being dismissed. I began callin...g him, I was in a panic of course and needed to speak to him urgently. My calls were ignored, my emails were ignored and finally I made two appearances at his office but he wasn't there. Eventually a month later sent his secretary to call me and let me know the paper work had been sent. I thought the issue had been sorted out however much to my dismay I discovered that the paper work he sent out had a very serious mistake. I contacted him again and again he continued to play cat and mouse games with me, ignoring my calls, ignoring my emails. He later sent me a letter informing me that he would rectify the mistake and ensure that the rightful decision would be up held. Unfortunately, the rectifications he made ignored important language that has resulted in a continuation of mistakes continuing in my case. I contacted him again about this and this time he simply ignored me. I hired him 6 months ago and a simple family issue has turned into the nightmare of my life. I will am now having to hire a second attorney to clean up the mess created by this attorney. I will also consider contacting the Bar Association and filing a complaint against him as he has cost me a lot of money, loss, pain and suffering. I had relied on the high ratings on avvo when I selected him to handle my case so I think it is important that other people considering him read this first before they go ahead and hire him so they can make an informed decision. I am not saying he would handle your case poorly I am simply saying that in my case, he handled my case very carelessly and I walked away disappointed and stressed beyond understanding.
