Biography
Kathy Seiden is an attorney and mediator specializing in divorce. Kathy combines an extensive background as a negotiator with her training and experience as a mediator to provide fair and comprehensive divorce mediation. She has a compassionate yet no nonsense approach to assisting couples move past the blame game and turn their energies toward cooperation. It is her practice to set agendas and summarize sessions in order to keep couples informed, organized and focused.
As both attorney and mediator, Kathy, serves her clients from the initial stages of mediation through to legal agreement and Judgment of Divorce. Kathy has established relationships with experts in the areas of tax and finance, real estate, therapy and coaching who can assist her clients as necessary.
Having completed extensive trainings with the Center for Mediation and Training in NYC and with the Westchester and Rockland Mediation Center operating under the auspices of the NYS Unified Court System, Kathy continues to attend conferences, advanced trainings and continued legal education in order to stay current and best serve her clients’ interests.
Kathy is a member of various professional organizations: The New Rochelle Bar Association, The New York Council On Divorce Mediation, The Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York, and the Academy of Professional Family Mediators. She abides by the Model Standards of Practice for Family and Divorce Mediation and holds herself to the highest ethical standards.
Kathy earned her JD from Hofstra University School of Law in 1989 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1986.
