Compassionate and Patient

I’ve had the pleasure of consulting with Mr. Dailey on two occasions, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. From the very start, he made me feel heard and supported. He took the time to carefully explain my options, offered thoughtful guidance, and never rushed me—even when our conversations were ...not billable consultations. His kindness and approachability immediately put me at ease, helping to alleviate a lot of the anxiety I was feeling about my situation. It’s clear that he genuinely cares about his clients and their well-being, not just the bottom line. Some lawyers have heart— Mr. Dailey is undoubtedly one of them. If you’re looking for someone knowledgeable, patient, and truly compassionate, he’s the attorney to turn to.

Michael Dailey was my appointed attorney for 24 hours. He is the most unprofessional "white-collar" individual I have ever encountered in my life. The FIRST red flag was failure to contact me once assigned in a very time sensitive case. The SECOND red flag was when he did finally contact me, he told ...me he already spoke to opposing counsel and attorney for the child before getting back to me. I would think it would be prominent to speak to your client before anyone else, but I guess that's not the case here. THIRDLY, our 36 minute conversation was as if I was speaking to opposing counsel in a court room, instead of actually listening to his client of the history, which I found completely offensive since he entered into a 4 year case and based his thoughts on the most recent (exaggerated and fabricated) petition from opposing counsel. Then, he proceeds to tell me "to look him up" and he's a retired lieutenant after he fails to know the difference between harassment and assault in the third degree, and after he admits not knowing CPLR 321C. FOURTHLY, after I tell him via email I no longer need his services and wished him a happy new year, he forwards my email thread to the court, opposing counsel, and attorney for the child, completing violating attorney-client privileged information, Rule 1.6 in ABA, an Ethical Code that attorneys are to obey. A lawyer claiming 35 years of experience should be fully aware of basic ethical codes. The one positive that gave him one star? His behavior and this experience has made me realize if this guy's a lawyer, I can become one too. LSAT here I come.

I feel very badly that I was unable to satisfy this client. Sometimes effective counsel requires telling a client what they need to hear, given the circumstances of their case, regardless of what they want to hear. I was not hired by this client, and did not receive any form of compensation from her. I was assigned to represent her by the judge in the case because her prior attorney became unavailable. As indicated in the review, there is a four year history in this case, all of which predates my involvement. Once relieved, I felt it incumbent upon me to notify the court so that the client could be considered for alternative assigned counsel. While some explanation was necessary, nothing in my communication to the court, or in the client's communication that was forwarded to the court, implicated the attorney-client privilege. I wish this client nothing but good fortune in her future endeavors. Sincerely, Mike Dailey

An Excellent Attorney

Michael Dailey was our attorney for a custody case. He was proactive in fighting for our case. He is not, however, a "yes" man. He gave us straight advice, all the time. Mike explained legal tems and procedures in a way that was clear to my wife and I. I feel that Mike genuinely cared for us and... for the outcome of our case. I would recommended him to anyone I know that is looking for an attorney. I was very pleased with my experience with Mike as my attorney.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"Michael F. Dailey and I worked together on a complex interstate custody matter in 2008. Mr. Dailey represented our client's custody interests in New York, and I in Maryland. I found him to be fully knowledgeable not only about the relevant law, but also on how to apply it practically in court to achieve our cleint's goals, which he did unequivocally. Many attorneys can quote the black letter law on an issue, but it is his ability to apply the law to accomplish real results for his clients that sets Mike Dailey apart from the average attorney. I look forward to working with him on matters in the future, and plan to refer any client who needs a talented and professional family law attorney in New York to Mr. Dailey."
