Maria was hired after my first divorce attorney was caught double and triple billing me . She plays the part of a caring attorney well. In reality she is an inexperienced attorney who was admitedly afraid to question witnesses in trial. So she has a partner we will call him lou who constantly brags a...bout his experience yet has zero drive in the court room. This crew was late to court numerous times. Even being reprimanded by the judge couldnt get them to work on time. Maria never once billed me throughout the course of my trial after I begged her to give me a bill so I can get an idea of my fees? She has no office staff was her response or I will charge you a flat fee was another response," dont worry". Well she then waits to the almost end of my 2 year divorce trial to hand me a $30,000 bill on a monday( after I already paid her $15,000 on account) then tuesday tell me she needed the money or she will quit. wednesday to my surprise right before I was set to take the stand for my testimony she filed papers to be removed. So if you want a lawyer who will NOT fight for what you deserve because she is afraid of the judge not liking her then maria novak and lou are your lawyers.If you want to fight for what is yours and not give your home ,all your money and full custody of your kids to your cheating ex then hire a different law firm.
