Cheryl M. Weir Reeves

I have been in front of Cheryl- WeirReeves for 4-5 years as well. She has a reputation for dragging on cases. Forgets all the subpoenaed witnesses and documents are lost. I have a special needs child who needed help in education and she didn't award anything from the father who is a CEO of a company... and I make very little. She is deliberant in her postponing and doesn't care about children. Try to stay away from her...complaining to Albany probably will go unnoticed. The father didn't show 6 times in court and she didn't care, didn't award the child anything. Didn't throw case out. She should be fired.

I have been before Magistrate Cheryl Weir-Reeves for almost 4 years to get a clear decision on something that could have been determined in hours or at worst days. She is a bully who is mean spirited and nasty...but what makes matters worse is she is incompetent and refuses to ever be corrected desp...ite transcripts, upheld objections and just plain basic facts. She has issued 2 decisions. After the first was incomprehensible as confirmed by chief clerk, an objection was filed an upheld. We were then sent back to her to clarify and after wasting another 5 months, has now issued a revised decision that ignores the upheld objection and still does not clarify or determine anything. It is CRIMINAL to have someone like this overseeing legal situations where families are in turmoil and pain. She lacks understanding or even basic politeness. If you are called before her, do all you can to find ANYONE else. A 12 year old could have done a better job...in both basic law and sensitivity.

I have appeared before Cheryl M. Weir Reeves representing single fathers. All 3 times I have tried to talk in her presence, I have been rudely cut off. She's beyond rude or respectful to anyone. She's snide and snarky to anyone and everyone in the court room. Even those who aren't a party to the... action. She has a heavy bias toward females, and seems to think it is her job to police social justice, despite what the FCA or the laws say on an issue. She seems to make up her own rules, and her own support figures. She ignores the CSSA, and doesn't even ask about circumstances. She makes assumptions on things that aren't even spoken, and interrupts the lawyers incessantly, effectively ignoring anything she has pre-decided that she doesn't like. I do not recommend this attorney. She's more fueled by her ego than the rules of law.
