Do yourself a favor and steer clear of hiring Jared. In my extensive experience dealing with both personal and professional matters, he stands out as the worst attorney and person I've ever encountered. I should have taken notice of the previous reviews – they speak the truth. Jared is unorganized, i...ncredibly rude, and completely out of line. A crook is too nice of a word to describe his actions.

Ian Berliner child custody attorney in Staten Island has to be the worst court appointed attorney. He does not work for mothers, throws negative outlooks and opinions without thoroughly reviewing cases or facts. Told several outright lies and will make you feel like you are battling the other parent,... the courts and him. It’s emotionally draining having him as a lawyer. If he doesn’t want court appointed cases he should just tell the courts that. Oh I forgot he can’t. Well he will ruin you case and do nothing without you threatening going to the board on him. Thank God we fired him early. Every single thing he shot down and had a negative outlook on our new attorney found very useful in our custody battle. He gave passes for respondent lies and outright parent alienation and child abuse. Refused to fight and tried numerous times to make us dismiss our case. He doesn’t know what best interest means. Save your family and don’t do it. Find a good attorney, they are out there. This review was left before a finding in the case so it’s clearly not a disgruntled review after winning or losing. He is the poisonous tree. Good riddance. Even a mediocre first year law graduate would do more and better.

Jared Berliner is the most unprofessional lawyer . I was appointed this lawyer by family court for custody case in regards to obtaining custody of my son. The first time I spoke to him he was the very negative speaking of allegations without him asking me anything. I asked if my son was on a order of... protection and he replied “I’m pretty sure your son on it too”. So I replied “pretty sure or sure “ so I looked through the paperwork and seen no my son not on the order of protection so I send it to him he calls me and starts yelling at me saying “get another lawyer then and get a job” then call me back and apologized and said something with his mother’s health so I try to start over so he tells me I will speak to the other lawyer Monday to try to arrange to see my son before august 1st. Monday comes I text him and ask have you spoke to the other lawyer no response I call him and he starts raising his voice again “when I have something I’ll let you know “ and then blocks me. If you care about your children you should immediately ask for new representation
