I handle litigation in all 3 areas of IP - copyright, trademark and patent infringement - and counsel clients on a wide range of issues: co-authorship, fair use, parody, infringement, damages, royalties, licensing and cross-licensing, copyright termination, digital rights, e-commerce, priority issues, patentability, etc. I welcome issues from all fields - scientific and technical endeavors, on the one hand, to the worlds of fashion, architecture, music, literature and journalism, on the other.

While I have handled very complex trademark infringement litigation on behalf of a nationwide company, I can also advise and represent clients in much simpler matters. Many companies do not realize that they may have valuable rights, even if they never registered with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. I specialize in analyzing whether they have secured rights under federal, state or common-law.and under related areas of law, such as "unfair competition" law and/or RICO.

I have negotiated collective bargaining agreements, and handled grievances and arbitrations and major litigation in 4 sectors: the private (NLRA), public (state, county & municipal), railway labor sector (railway and airline), and federal sectors. I take particular pride in having served as general counsel to the New York City Civil Service Technical Guild over the course of three different union administrations. CSTG represented 7,500 professionals in the employ of the City of New York.

Although the bulk of my IP practice concerns copyright and trademark issues, I have also been called upon to advise clients in other IP-related areas: patent infringement, trade secrets, unfair competition, RICO, false advertising, issues related to privacy and/or publicity rights, merchandising, fashion & design protection issues, etc.
