Excellent Personal Injury Lawyer and Advocate

In 2016, I suffered severe smoke inhalation as well as other serious injuries as a result of being trapped in a horrific fire in a NYC apartment building. I contacted several attorneys to discuss my case, and few were willing to speak with me as their observation was that this was a ‘difficult ‘case.... At the suggestion of a friend, I was introduced to Michael Eisenman. He agreed to take my case. Michael made every effort to fully understand my case and thoughtfully revised the complaint that had been submitted to the court by a prior attorney who I dismissed. What struck me about Michael was his incredibly kind and principled manner. Michael very clearly communicated the challenges with my case while assuring me that he and his team would do everything in their power to see us through to the best possible outcome. He never once led me to believe anything other than that this would be a long battle that would require tenacity, which he clearly had based on his litigation record and experience. That was enough for me to feel that I had not only found a good attorney, but also an incredible advocate. In addition to giving every aspect of this case (meetings, court appearances, depositions and preparation of over 25 witnesses) his undivided attention, Michael was relentless and masterful in his preparation of this case (leaving no stone unturned) and in his strategy. After 6 long years, 3 adjournments and zero settlement offers from the defense, the case went to trial. Michael’s preparation for the trial was intensive and extremely thorough. Michael and his team worked tirelessly day, night and weekends reviewing my case from every angle. Michael’s commitment was unparalleled as was his belief that justice and the truth would prevail. His litigation style was aggressive when it needed to be, however never hostile, and always respectful. It was clear he gained the respect of the judge and the defense. In addition, he conducted an effective and winning cross examination of the defense witnesses. The jury remained attentive throughout to his arguments and to his position. It was clear the defense was outlawyered by Michael. A very acceptable settlement offer was reached just after closing arguments and before the case went to jury deliberation. I am very happy with the results. Thank you, Michael, I will always be grateful for your support and for giving me a voice during the most difficult time of my life.

EFFECTIVE REPRESENTATION

Michael Eisenman knew what needed to be done to successfully represent me, and he carried out each step in a way that respected me and the legal process that he guided me through. He listened carefully to my concerns, he helped me understand and prepare throughout the process for what was involved, ...and he developed and implemented a comprehensive and detailed action plan which reflected his thorough understanding of what had to be done to achieve a successful result for me. My case lasted over three years, and the defendants were determined from the start to pay nothing. Michael Eisenman’s preparation for my deposition and his effective deposition of the defendants’ witnesses changed that perception. His detailed preparation for my jury trial, his reputation earned when representing clients like me, and his negotiating skills pushed the defendants to agree to an acceptable settlement without beginning the trial. I am grateful for his help, and I highly recommend Michael Eisenman. If you need legal representation, you will be glad you chose him to represent you.

Knowledgable and Strategic

I was involved in an automobile accident and went to several attorneys that had pretty hard sales tactics (and some very unprofessional). At first I thought walking into their firm would be similar to the two other attorneys I had sought out, however, I was very surprised that there was no "hard sell...ing" or contracts I had to sign right away. They gave me an in depth overview of their firm and then said to me "think it over and get back to us." That was music to my ears. The other lawyers wanted me to sign contracts right away, pay different fees, or start immediate work on my case without me having the benefit of doing my due diligence. My case lasted over four years due to the extent of my injuries, however, at every turn they were available to help me by answering my phone calls or emails (I even had their cellphone number to reach them after hours!). They made sure that I made it to every medical appointment and they even attended them with me to make sure that all went all. Initially, the defendant's settlement amounts were below what they felt the case was worth and we decided to seek a jury trial. The trial preparation was so in depth and I was surprised that they knew more about my trial than I did and they had to correct me several times during the trial prep. I have not worked with other lawyers before but I must say the trial prep is very critical when seeking a jury trial and they explained to me the purpose of the trial prep, what I should or should not expect during my examination and cross examination, my trial testimony (which is VERY important), and proper courtroom etiquette. For a person with no courtroom experience I felt prepared as ever. All of the trial prep was in vain though. Negotiations had taken off due specifically to the law firm and their reputation. In fact before the jury was selected they had already more than quadrupled their original offer. In the end the amount I recovered was more than five times the amount of the original offer. The opposing attorney had known of the firm and Michael and wanted to settle at every turn possible. Michael worked strategically and methodically to capture the largest settlement offer for me - I think any other lawyer would have settled for half of what Michael was able to secure for me. Doing this for the first time was quite nerve wracking however I am glad I had a strong and knowledgable team behind me every step of the way that I could talk to at any time.

Excellent Lawyer

Michael took a case that no one else would take. He took it to "further our cause" since my brother and I had worked very hard doing our own research into the case to help our father. The defendants maintained a strict no pay from the start, but due to his knowledge, experience and perseverance (he... worked on this case for six years) the case was settled. He is VERY good at his profession, and we are very grateful.
