After years of frustration with a previous law firm, I was left in a legal mess. An awful experience. Completely unresponsive for nearly a year. Charged $6K to create a barely proofread complaint which used 90% my own words. Motion to dismiss was granted to the opposing party and my attorney immediately blamed me for the outcome! You see, I committed the terrible sin of sendin...g an e-mail to the court clerks after eight months, politely asking about an update. According to my attorney, judges don't like to be bothered, and the motion was "most likely granted because of my e-mail." Really? The judge disregarded all notion of justice and morality because he didn't like my e-mail? Interesting take. Meanwhile, the court order said multiple basic pieces of evidence were missing. When I asked my attorney about this, he said it was ridiculous and shouldn't be necessary. Well, the court thought it was necessary. All in all, it's clear this attorney is more interested in collecting fees and moving on than any notion of good lawyering. At the end of the whole conversation, he actually mentioned that he would file an appeal for $5,000, a discount form his usual $7,500. I may not be an attorney, but I have been a CPA for ten years and can recognize professionalism when I see it. It ain't here, folks. Do yourself a favor - search elsewhere for competent representation.
