Lorna J. La Motte

Lorna J LaMotte graduated from St John’s University School of Law after having earned her BBA in accounting from the City University of New York, Baruch College.

Lorna started her legal career as the Staff Attorney at Budget and Credit Counseling Services (BuCCS), a non-profit credit counseling agency. Lorna headed the consumer bankruptcy department, a unique program, authorized by the State of New York to provide pro-se legal services to consumers. Through her time at BuCCS, she gained a wealth of experience working directly with consumers undergoing financial hardship, providing them with the relief and fresh start envisioned by the Bankruptcy Code.

In 2005 Lorna started her own firm and continued her work with consumers helping them navigate the legal system and providing thousands of individuals and their families with a path to financial rebirth. She successfully represents her many clients providing them with a path to achieving lasting financial stability.

While bankruptcy is the focus of her practice, Lorna brings the same sense of caring, compassion and dedication to her other practice areas. Each client receives her personal attention and the wealth of her knowledge in order to achieve their legal goals.
