Daniel S. Kratka has practiced criminal law for over two decades, with experience spanning state and federal criminal defense and appellate advocacy. Mr. Kratka’s practice is dedicated to criminal defense, including pre-arrest investigations, post-arrest representation, trial advocacy, and appellate work. Mr. Kratka served as an Assistant District Attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s Office for several years, handling an array of complex criminal matters from inception through trial. After serving as a prosecutor in Manhattan for several years, Mr. Kratka spent 19 years at a Manhattan litigation firm, where as a partner, he established and supervised a thriving criminal defense and litigation practice. In 2023, he founded Kratka Law Group and has represented numerous criminal defense clients throughout New York and New . Kratka’s experience includes prosecution and defense of fraud-based cases, including multi-state identity fraud rings and investigations involving public employees. Mr. Kratka has tried cases in both state and federal courts. As a result of his consistent positive results and client satisfaction, Mr. Kratka has been engaged to handle thousands of cases in numerous state, town, and justice courts throughout the states of New York and New Jersey. Throughout his career, Mr. Kratka has successfully handled thousands of criminal cases, as well as litigating a variety of civil and commercial cases in state and federal courts. Mr. Kratka’s career reflects sustained criminal defense excellence marked by trial experience, appellate skill, leadership, pro bono legal service, and community service. Mr. Kratka’s appellate work includes representing hundreds of non-citizen clients, facing deportation, in post-conviction relief motions to re-open closed criminal cases based upon constitutional violations. Many of these cases resulted in dismissals or re-pleaders to non-problematic immigration dispositions, preventing the deportation of clients or enabling them to obtain lawful status in the United States.
